You are Invited, That Feeling Inside, Pamper Yourself

Last week felt more like spring than summer, leaving us thankful for Noble's wooded trails, breezy golf cart rides and comfortable benches tucked in the shade of trees.  The gardens are resplendent, providing the garden club with a variety of flowers to arrange and display throughout Noble.

We celebrated National Nursing week May 6-12, relishing the opportunity to recognize our extraordinary nurses.  Throughout the week, Noble's Director of Nursing distributed gifts to her dedicated team amidst widely displayed signs and banners saluting nurses.  For the 20th consecutive year, Americans voted nurses the most trusted profession in the nation, to which we would add the most compassionate and caring, too!

Don't miss the Noble Gallery's outstanding exhibit of works donated by Tino and Susan Galluzzo, former owners of the White Gallery. The show features art by Andrew Wyeth and a host of other artists representing a spectrum of artistic styles and mediums.  When the exhibit closes, the art will be displayed throughout NobleHorizons. You may view the exhibit on weekends from 11 am-4 pm through June.

Keith Moon's course on Vladimir Putin ended last week; please click here for replays of the entire course.  Keith's Hotchkiss colleague, Carita Gardiner, will host a book club in June and additional enrichment opportunities will soon be announced.

The Feeling I Get Inside

“I wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl – I never had an idea of being anything else,” reveals RuthAnn Wright who joined the nursing profession in 1998.  As a Noble nurse and nurse supervisor, RuthAnn cherishes the joy that comes in making people feel better, watching them heal, and knowing she is part of a team that collaborates to ensure every resident is getting the best care possible.  “There is a stark difference between Noble Horizons and other senior living communities or hospitals – not only are the residents happy but so is the staff!” explains RuthAnn.  Please read more here.

Don't Miss Our 50th Jubilee!

We can't celebrate without you!  Please join us for our Golden Anniversary celebration on July 12 (rain date July 13) to enjoy one of Noble's oldest and most revered traditions: the Community Picnic.  First hosted in the 1970s, the picnic was a summer highlight for decades, featuring the festive music of the Salisbury Band and a savory summer barbeque, both of which are back this summer!

Making it extra special, Noble is privileged to partner with the Lakeville Hose Company whose members will serve their famous BBQ chicken and delectable fixings.  Expect to indulge in birthday cake, locally sourced ice cream and a variety of wines, beer and iced tea donated by Harney and Sons.  The party runs from 4:30-7:30 pm and will feature special guest Representative Maria Horn and many others who have been an integral part of Noble's first half-century.  Please check the website for more information, and hear Bill Pond's May 18 conversation about the 50th with NPR/Robinhood radio's Marshall Miles.

Indulge your Body and Mind

Pamper yourself on May 25 with a morning of rejuvenation followed by a delicious and nutritious free lunch at Noble Horizons.  Suzanne Mazzarelli, who leads the weekly therapeutic movement and breath class co-hosted by Noble Horizons and the Scoville Library, will guide you through movement, breathing, and stretching techniques at 11 am, after which you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along Noble's bucolic walking paths and then treat yourself to a savory lunch made with fresh and healthy ingredients to fuel your mind and body.  Registration is required.
