Hotchkiss School Teacher Returns; Hamish Lutris; Noble Nurse Honored, Be Our Guest

Celebrating our outstanding CNAs on National CNA Day!

Though the solstice is still a few days away, summer is in full swing with fishing, bocce, croquet, BBQs, gardening, and weekly trips to Fudgy's ice cream! Flag Day was recognized with a patriotic live music concert, Father's Day will be marked with a special luncheon, and summer's arrival will be greeted with an ice cream party!

The campus continues to open; this past week, the Salisbury Rotary Club resumed their weekly meetings, and Rosie and Tilly, two of our favorite four-legged visitors, elicited squeals of delight when they returned to visit.  We also celebrated Certified Nursing Assistant Day with a tribute to our exceptional team of CNAs.

To ensure the safety of Noble residents, we continue to ask that guests please be screened at the Wagner entrance, and through June, that community guests entering buildings be fully vaccinated.  Thank you for understanding; we look forward to seeing you!

Henry IV with The Hotchkiss School's Jim Fornshell

Henry IV

The Hotchkiss School's veteran Shakespeare teacher, Jim Fornshell returns this summer on July 6, 2-3 pm to lead an engrossing and entertaining course on Shakespeare's popular Henry IV.  Considered one of the bard's most engaging plays about the burden of power, old age, and atonement for the past, Henry IV is filled with humor, intrigue, action and of course, the iconic Falstaff.

Fornshell has taught Shakespeare at Hotchkiss for over 25-years and was co-chair of the English Department. He holds a B.A. in English from Hamilton College, an M.Ed. from Harvard University, and an M.Litt. in Shakespeare studies from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.  The 5-week series runs weekly on Tuesdays from 2-3 pm through August 3; please register here.

Hamish Lutris

hamish

Hamish Lutris is one of Noble Horizons' most popular speakers, known for his captivating history classes and his encyclopedic knowledge on an impossibly wide range of topics. One topic he has not covered, however, is Hamish Lutris! Graciously, Hamish agreed to be the topic of this week's blog which is a great read while we await the debut of his new course at Noble Horizons this summer.
