Noble Horizons 50th Archives

The 50th Countdown, Wanda Houston Returns, Stress Reduction Workshops

Noble's 50th birthday party is in just 5 days and YOU are invited! You have helped us reach this exciting milestone so please join us for our first half-century celebration on July 12, 4:30-7:30 pm! You can expect sumptuous food, refreshing beverages, and terrific entertainment.  Perhaps you'll win a fabulous anniversary gift basket packed with goodies from The White Hart, Great Falls Brewing, Roaring Oaks, or one of the many other local purveyors.

Scores of Noble friends are planning to savor the Lakeville Hose Company's famous bbq chicken feast, sip an array of wines, beer, iced tea, and other reviving summer beverages, and indulge in birthday cake and ice cream! You can visit with Noble staff from the last 50 years, enjoy festive music from the Salisbury Band who performed at Noble's first community picnic, and hear from Salisbury selectman Curtis Rand and Legislative Representative Maria Horn.

Bring friends to share the fun!  Thanks to generous support from the Noble Horizons Auxiliary and Sharon Hospital, as well as donations from local businesses (named here), this fabulous evening is just $15/person and $40/family.  Take-out is available if you aren't able to stay.  We can't wait to see you!

Celebrating!

Shortly before celebrating the July 4th holiday, Noble Horizons celebrated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Week to recognize the indispensable contributions to resident life made by Noble CNAs. CNAs enjoyed ice cream sundaes from an ice cream emergency vehicle featuring the logo "Saving Lives One Scoop at A Time" while the Nursing Directors showered them with gifts of gratitude and appreciation.

Hopefully, you have received your summer issue of Noble's printed newsletter, On the Horizon, which offers wonderful reflections of Noble's first half-century as well as news of upcoming 50th celebration events.  Please email Caroline if you haven't received one or click here to read it.   You can also learn more about 50th plans from Marshall Miles' NPR/WHDD interview with Caroline Burchfield.

Summer days at Noble are anything but lazy, though the living does seem easy compared to the challenges of the last few years!  Life is truly thriving once again and the joy of living in a community rich in beauty, opportunities and wonderful people is fueling a memorable summer.  We hope you are also settling into a summer full of ice cream and plenty of easy living.

Stress Reduction Workshops

Do you ever feel stressed, anxious or even overwhelmed?. The emotional and physical toll can be debilitating. Suzanne Mazzarelli, teacher of Noble’s weekly Therapeutic Movement class, specializes in techniques to address chronic stress, anxiety, aging and/or persistent pain.

Join her for a series of in-person classes on July 26, August 9 and 23 from 10-11 am that will focus on strategies to connect the mind, body and spirit to feel more grounded and empowered during times of stress.  Results can include improved sleep patterns and a greater capacity for joy and resilience.

Mazzarelli is a certified therapeutic yoga instructor and owner of Be Well Community Yoga.  Her class is offered at no charge and does not require registration.  If there is sufficient interest, the class may continue into the fall.
