Our Alzheimer’s Events at Noble Horizons and Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s is a devastating disease for which there is currently no cure although experts are cautiously hopeful about developing treatments that can stop or significantly delay its progression. Research-and the funding to support it-is critical.

Our August 2019 Alzheimer’s events at Noble Horizons featured food, fun, merriment and prizes for everyone! A baked potato bar and hot dogs with ALL the fixings were hugely popular lunch options; residents and staff brought out their inner Rembrandts at a Paint and Sip evening while enjoying wine, cheese and crackers; staff members hosted a car wash; spectacular gift baskets were displayed for a week and raffled to lucky winners and the highlight of the month-Carnival Day-brought squeals of joy to all, except, perhaps, the boss, who sat under a splash tank and was immersed again and again and again!

In September and October, thousands of Americans in 600 communities throughout the nation participate in The Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

On September 8, at the White Memorial Conservation Center in Litchfield, CT, the Horizons Hikers of Noble Horizons walked again this year and shattered their fundraising goal! Last year, the Horizon Hikers were among the top 5 corporate fundraisers and with money raised from August’s events, Noble Horizons is donating even more this year.
