Getting your Affairs in Order

On October 26 at 7 pm, Noble Horizons will host via Zoom Salisbury Bank Trust Officer, Kimberly Downey and attorney and former probate judge Charles Vail who will present “Getting your Affairs in Order.”  Attendees will learn what legal and financial documents are necessary when planning for the future,  how to prepare and organize them, where you can turn for help, and other fundamental steps needed to safeguard your future.

Topics include:

Identifying the essential financial, personal, and legal documents

• health (e.g. health care proxy, advance directives)
• finances (e.g. social security, retirement funds, bank accounts, etc.)
• legal documents (such as those that designate a power of attorney, etc.)

Kimberly Downey, CTFA, Vice President, Senior Fiduciary Officer, Salisbury Bank

Kimberly Downey serves as a relationship manager and investment advisor to individuals and families at Salisbury Bank, with a specialization in Trust and Estate administration. She is the Chairperson of the Trust Administration Committee which oversees Salisbury Trust’s account administration matters. She holds a B.S. in Business Economics, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University, and is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor. Kim serves her community through Salisbury Youth Hockey, EXTRAS after-school and summer programs, and Salisbury Central School PTO.

Former Probate Judge

Charles Vail, an attorney with Ackerly Brown, has practiced law for over 40 years and specializes in estate planning.  He was the Chief Administrative Officer for Benjamin Moore & Co and has earned Professional Certifications from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University Graduate School of Business, and Harvard University Graduate School of Business.  He has been a Trustee of The Sharon Playhouse, the Salisbury Association Land Trust is a past member of the Planning & Zoning Commission, and Zoning Board of Appeals in Salisbury, CT.
