Holiday Parade, John Harney, Jr, Noble Takes the Lead

As 2022 hurtles toward its finale, Noble residents have been trimming trees, playing dreidel, caroling, decorating cookies, and enjoying other festive activities to mark the season. The highlight has been the spectacular holiday lights parade (this video is sure to make you smile!) that local fire department volunteers brought to Noble, dazzling every member of the Noble community! Holiday celebrations will culminate this week when residents, their families, and staff gather for our annual Holiday Cheer party which is followed by our tradition of gift-giving to every Noble resident, made possible by the Noble Horizons Auxiliary.

If you haven't had a chance to make a 50th-anniversary gift, won't you please consider one today?  Noble's first 50 years are an inspiring testament to our community's strong commitment to supporting seniors who have given so much throughout their lives; your donation ensures that they can count on safe, secure, and innovative senior living and healthcare in their own hometown. Noble is here for you because you have been there for us, and we sincerely thank you!

Please accept our warmest wishes for 2023. We look forward to welcoming you to campus in the year ahead and hope the new year brings you health, happiness, and peace.

Noble Joins the Effort to Reduce Food Waste

Recognizing the growing burden of food waste, Noble is proud to join the community's pilot Food Waste Collection Program (FWCP), launched by the Head of the Salisbury Transfer Station Advisory Committee, Barbara Bettigole, and Brian Bartram, the Salisbury/Sharon Transfer Station Manager and Trustee of NRRA, the Northeast Resource Recovery Association, the nation's oldest and largest cooperative-model recycling nonprofit.

Food scraps, one of the largest and costliest components of CT's trash, are being shipped at great expense to out-of-state landfills where they produce methane gas, the second most prevalent greenhouse gas.  The FWCP will reduce waste management costs, and divert food waste to composted to build healthier soil, prevent soil erosion, conserve water, and improve plant growth.

Pictured here is Noble cottager Joann Taber who introduced the program at a recent meeting of cottage residents and explained how easily she has integrated it into her life. Noble Administrator, Bill Pond explained how Noble will offer the service to cottages, stressing the importance of Noble's support of this community initiative.
