Don't miss the Salisbury Association's exhibit celebrating Noble Horizons' first 50 years! On a flawless fall afternoon, members of the Association not only hosted a beautiful opening reception but honored Noble Horizons with its 1741 Award recognizing individuals and organizations who have made outstanding contributions to the local community.
The stories, photographs, and artifacts will hearken rich memories, perhaps of a special nurse, the chili cook-off, the Festival of Trees, the Habitat for Humanity Birdhouse exhibit, or a favorite volunteer. In addition, you can view the 50th-anniversary video and hear fascinating reflections from community members who have been a part of Noble Horizons' first fifty years.
Ultimately, the exhibit reveals the remarkable relationship forged between Noble Horizons and the community since 1972. We are grateful for the community's long and loyal support and to the Salisbury Association for honoring our first 50 years. Please stop by the exhibit, open T-S, 10 am-1 pm, before it closes on November 30.
What is Bitcoin? Ask Hotchkiss Teacher Jason Maier!
Be sure to join Jason Maier, chair of The Hotchkiss School’s Mathematics and Computer Science Department, for an introduction to the fundamentals of Bitcoin and the implications of its use. As a 14-year member of the Hotchkiss faculty, his skills as a teacher will ensure you understand Bitcoin as well as his highschool students!
Maier is the author of the upcoming book A Progressive’s Case for Bitcoin to be released in 2023. More info and registration.
20 of the Area's Best Artists Celebrate 50 Years of Art
Although this fall's brilliant foliage is disappearing, 20 of the region's finest artists have created equally spellbinding panoramas and color for Noble's 50th-anniversary exhibit. You'll be lifted by the scenery, the creativity, the breadth of styles and the impressive talent.
Please join us on November 4, 5-7 pm for a variety of wines, plentiful hor d'oeuvres, and terrific company with the generous artists sharing their work in honor of Noble's half-century of community art exhibits. You'll discover paintings, sculptures, Polymer clay Fimo, watercolors, oils, pottery and more. The breadth of talent on display is as much an homage to Noble as it is a testament to the immense artistic talent in our region. You can expect to see works by Eric Forstmann(Litchfield County Farm 2022 pictured), Tia Maggio, Lily Woodworth, Charlie Noyes and others. The gallery is open on weekends, 11 am-4 pm through December 19.
A Free Lunch and Your Best Medicare Plan
At 12:00 pm on November 3, Salisbury resident and WCAAA counselor Amanda Halle will offer valuable tips on Preparing for Medicare Open Enrollment. WCAAA (Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging) is an unbiased, nonprofit that provides services to seniors in CT's northwest corner; a free lunch at 11:30 am will precede Amanda's program for which registration is required.
