CMS 5 star

Noble Horizons Earns National Recognition with Rare 5-Star Rating

On October 8th, The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal agency within the US Department of Health and Human Services that administers Medicare and works collaboratively with state governments to administer Medicaid, awarded Noble Horizons its rare and coveted 5-star rating. Here at Noble Horizons we hold steadfast in our mission to provide, without profit or discrimination, a full range of residential living and health care services for older adults. The perfect score makes Noble Horizons one of the highest rated nursing home facilities in the region and one of only two facilities to be awarded a 5 star rating in the Eastern New York, Western Massachusetts, or Western Connecticut region. As many family caregivers have come to know, many nursing homes differ in the quality of care they provide to both short and long term residents making this honor for our staff one of critical importance. CMS utilizes three vital standards of care when calculating their star ratings including staffing, measures collated to determine the quality of care, and finally an overall rating weighted from data collected from health inspections. Noble Horizons excelled in all three categories not least of all in how much time our Registered Nurses dedicate themselves to each of our residents on a daily basis finishing at 54 minutes, a full thirteen minutes ahead of the national average of 41. Additionally, Noble Horizons smashed the national average for percentages in residents who regularly report moderate to severe pain, coming in at just over 1 percent with the national percent at nearly 7. “Noble Horizons provides the best care to be found in our area,” says administrator Bill Pond. “This is awesome news and I want to congratulate our entire team of professionals and caregivers here at Noble Horizons.” Mr.Pond’s excitement no doubt reflects the culmination of our staff’s tireless efforts to not only maintain consistent leadership in retirement living, but develop new and innovative programs for both the short and long term well-being of those who happily reside within our community, “To have all of our efforts recognized by the federal government is a major accomplishment for everyone here but most of all it serves as a benefit for our residents as a result of our staff’s dedication and expertise.”
