Upcoming Community Events at Noble Horizons

Spring is in full bloom here at Noble and we are surrounded by budding trees, flowers, gardening and new life on the pond with our resident geese awaiting their babies. We have been showing our appreciation to our Nursing staff here for their dedicated service for nursing appreciation week and salute all the nurses out there that make a difference. Tomorrow we will be holding our first outdoor BBQ and taking advantage of the warmer weather to get out on our beautiful campus. Please take advantage of our upcoming programs that we are offering so you too can enjoy the tranquility of our campus.

As May flies by, we wanted to be sure to remind you about events coming up within the next several weeks:

  • The Importance of Diet and Aging (Wednesday May 24)
  • Senior Fitness Day (Wednesday May 31)
  • Cancer Survivors Day (Thursday June 1).

Please see below for details about each of these events, and how to register.  We hope to see you soon!

Learn about Diet and Aging

Please join us on May 24th at 2:30 in our Community Room to hear from our Certified Dietitian and Nutritionist, Sue Mastrangelo. Sue has been our dietitian here at Noble for over fifteen years and will share her vast knowledge about healthy eating as we age. In this discussion, The Importance of Diet and Aging, Sue will provide us with the tools and tips we need to stay healthy by carefully choosing the foods we eat as we get older. She will encourage participation and take questions from the audience. Don't miss out on this opportunity to get healthier through diet! Registration is appreciated, please register on our website by clicking here.

May 31st is Senior Health and Fitness Day

Move More to Do More!

National Senior Health and Fitness Day is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year as the nation's largest older adult health and wellness event! More than 1,000 local groups will host health and wellness events for 100,000+ older adults across the country on this day. Once again, Noble Horizons is proud to sponsor this fun and informative event. Please join us on Wednesday, May 31st in the Community Room beginning at 10:30am. Noble’s physical therapists will begin with a simple balance “screening” to make you aware of your balancing abilities and the impact balance has on exercise. We will then take a walk on our beautiful campus, and end with a deliciously nutritious luncheon. This is a free event for all who would like to participate. Registration is required no later than May 24th.  Please register here if you'd like to attend this event.

National Cancer Survivors Day at Noble Horizons is
June 1st at 5PM

We are very excited to announce that for the first time, Noble Horizons will be hosting the upcoming National Cancer Survivors Day. This is not only for people who have survived the disease but also people who have been there to support their loved ones and friends through the process. This is a way to get together to share your experiences, offer support, and find outreach programs that could be helpful in the recovery process.  This is a free event that will offer food from local business such as Labonne's, Deano's, and Talk of the Towne and a chance to win raffle baskets from The Black Rabbit, Salisbury Garden Center and The White Hart Inn and many more. Our keynote speaker will be our very own Cancer Survivor and exceptional Volunteer Mary Barton and will offer musical stylings from Deirdre Broderick. The National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation describes this event as, "a CELEBRATION for those who have survived, an INSPIRATION for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of SUPPORT for families, and an OUTREACH to the community." Please join us to celebrate in this truly exceptional event and support the outreach programs they provide. If you or someone you know is a Cancer Survivor, family member or friend of a Cancer Survivor and wish to attend, please sign up here.
