On March 3 at 5:30 pm Representative Maria Horn of the 64th District spoke at Noble Horizons to update attendees on the issues likely to be considered during the 2020 Connecticut Legislative Session which began February 5. Topics addressed included solid waste management and recycling, rising healthcare costs, increasing access to affordable housing, transportation funding and a bill introduced by a bipartisan group of Connecticut lawmakers to prevent age discrimination in hiring.
Prior to Horn’s election in 2018, her professional career took place in New York where she worked for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Criminal Division. Horn graduated from Princeton University, and earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1993. She serves on the Environment Committee, the Joint Committee on Judiciary, and was selected as Vice-Chair of the Appropriations Committee.
