Paint Cafe with Hannah Jung: The Great Wave

Thursday, April 24th from 2:00-4:30 in the Learning Center.

Noble Horizons will be hosting The Voice of Art’s Therapeutic Art Program for Older Adults, featuring The Great Wave Off Kanagawa by Japanese artist Hokusai. Studio Art Supply Fee will be waived for Noble Horizons Residents.

“The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Katsushika Hokusai is a famous Japanese woodblock print from around 1831, part of his Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji series. It depicts a towering, curling wave seemingly about to crash down on boats, with Mount Fuji in the background. The artwork symbolizes the power of nature versus human resilience and blends traditional Japanese ukiyo-e style with Western perspective techniques. It remains one of the most iconic images in art history, influencing artists worldwide and appearing in everything from fine art to pop culture.
