
Songs in Ursa Major – A Book Discussion Led by the Hotchkiss School’s Carita Gardiner
Wednesday, July 14th at 7 pm , Noble Horizons will host The Hotchkiss School’s Carita Gardiner who will lead a book club discussion of Emma Brodies’ novel, Songs in Ursa Major.
Recommended by The Wall Street Journal as one of the best summer reads of 2021 and featured as a new and noteworthy book by the June 15 New York Times, Songs of Ursa Major will be the subject of Hotchkiss School instructor Carita Gardiner’s book club discussion. Brodie, an author of several best-sellers, is a former student in Gardiner’s creative writing class.
The novel is about a young musician whose relationship with a folk music legend brings her fame but also heartbreak. Brodie is a graduate of Hotchkiss and Johns Hopkins University, and an executive editor at Little Brown.
Carita Gardiner, a former Chair of the Hotchkiss School English Department, holds a B.A., from Amherst College, an M.Ed. from Harvard University, and an M.A. from Middlebury College. Please register for a Zoom link below.
