The Middle East is often called the forgotten theater of the Great War, yet the effects of the conflict there have reverberated through the 20th and 21st Centuries. Conflicting loyalties, personalities, and policies created a complex political and military situation, one that the allied powers found “hard to escape with honor and dignity.” This talk will center on that theater, and the political and military actions and personalities that have thrown such a long shadow across the western world in the generations since the war.
