Cooking Thousands of Meals, Sleek Porsches and Mustangs, Shopping with the Auxiliary…

As Salisbury's nightly temperatures dip into the 40s, it is clear that summer 2021 is winding down!  Lime Rock Park's annual Labor Day weekend Vintage Car Parade, during which 125 historic cars roared through Noble Horizons, eased the transition, however! Sleek Porsches, classic MGs, roadsters, souped-up muscle cars, and countless other unique vehicles delighted the crowds of Noble spectators.  Enjoy photos here and a few video clips of the parade here.

Other recent highlights include our festive Hawaiian luau, replete with colorful pina colada cupcakes and refreshing tropical drinks.  We celebrated Rosh Hashanah with a special luncheon featuring Challah bread, brisket, beets, and other traditional foods.  On the first Thursday of each month, cottagers gather for drinks, food, and fun and begin their week with coffee and snacks at the Cottagers Cafe on Mondays from 10 am-noon.

Looking ahead, anticipation is building for the Auxiliary's annual Lobster Fest this Friday, sign-ups are underway for Tuesday's trivia tournament, and everyone is looking forward to Monday's Michael Brown concert.  Peeks of life at Noble are always available on Instagram, our website gallery, and Facebook page.

Offering Smiles and Thousands of Meals

When meeting Noble's Dining Director, Lisa McGhee, you immediately notice her warmth and her shoes, which aptly reflect her passion for food. Lisa and her dedicated team of culinary professionals are responsible for over 2000 meals and special events annually and on top of her ardent commitment to exceptional quality is her commitment to serving every guest a generous side of joy.  At a recent dinner, a resident was overheard saying, “There is something so warm about her.”  From Lisa's perspective, “The feedback and comments from the residents, little inside jokes, or even something as simple as remembering my name are what bring me joy. I’m always trying to take things to the next level. Something might be OK, but I’m always thinking about how we can make it better." More...

A Message From the Noble Horizons Auxiliary

The Noble Horizons Auxiliary is pleased to report that we are alive and well despite eighteen months of sidelined activities and idle time.

It is not all bad news.  Noble residents are shopping again!  Our Country Store in Wagner is open and looking fantastic with new, carefully chosen merchandise on the shelves, and friendly Auxiliary volunteers to help you make a purchase.  Selections range from candy and cards to beautiful household items and personal accessories.   Although we must again cancel the Festival of Trees and delay our bi-annual Book & Tag Sale, we will try, all being well, to deliver a Holiday Fair in early December.

The Auxiliary continues to support many of the special activities and programs we have long offered to Noble residents including management and staffing of the Country Store, the wonderful library and book club operations, contributions to the Employee Scholarship Fund, fresh flowers on the dining room tables, residents’ social events, and many other contributions that are so integral to life at Noble.

We are especially excited to be playing a big role in the urgently needed upgrade of Noble’s Wi-Fi network.  Residents will soon be able to effectively FaceTime with family members, stream movies and concerts, and email family and friends.  We cannot think of a better way to benefit our Noble community.

Please encourage your friends who enjoy volunteering, giving back, organizing special events, and the rewards of being part of a great team to join us!
