A note to Auxiliary MEMBERS and VOLUNTEERS!

The Auxiliary is very thankful for your support—without you, we would not be able to carry out our important fundraising mission of helping to improve the lives of Noble’s residents. Thank you so much.

This year, we’d like to take a moment to thank a very special Auxiliary member and volunteer who is ever-present at so many of our events.

This member is the kind of person that if you call her, she is always ready to help.

For many, many years, she has worked at the Book & Tag Sales spending countless hours each day during set-up week and also giving her time during the actual sale.

For the Festival of Trees, she could be counted on to be a greeter. Always with a smile, she welcomed the many visitors to the Festival, guiding them on how to place a bid for a display or buy raffle tickets for children’s toys.

And who cannot have noticed her willingness to work a table at the Holiday Fair, now Holiday Market, or sell raffle tickets in the Wagner Lobby?

Currently, this volunteer is co-leading Noble’s “Bookies” the book club that meets monthly and has some fifteen or so members with Joan McCue as co-leader.

It is with pleasure that we honor Rosemary Farnsworth for all her service to our cause. Thank you so very much… Please give a round of applause for Rosemary!

But we are not quite finished! This year, we’d also like to give thanks for another stalwart member of the Auxiliary. This person serves the Auxiliary in so many crucial ways … we really don’t know what we’d do without her.

She helps to organize the annual lobster dinner. Making sure that we have everything we need to make this event possible.

For the Festival of Trees, she helped coordinate the visiting school children and other groups shepherding them here and there to visit with Mrs. Claus, with juice and cookies at hand.

At the Gala, she was always in the front lobby greeting guests and making sure that partygoers had a bid number. When it came time to name the silent auction winners, this person got it all organized.

For the Book & Tag Sale, this volunteer is always there making sure everyone has what they need to get make the sale a success.

For the Holiday Fair and now Holiday Market, this volunteer distributes the money pouches and then spends many hours tallying up what each table earns.

She pays our bills, gives an update on our finances monthly, and crunches the numbers for our  Annual Budget. Of course I’m speaking of Kathy Hawley. An integral part of our organization who has loyally served us for the past ten years.

Kathy, because of your dedication and service, we thank you for all that you do past and present for Noble Horizon’s Auxiliary. Let’s hear it for Kathy Hawley!

Congratulations to Our Scholarship RECIPIENT!

Congratulations to Lily Najdek for receiving this year’s Noble Auxiliary Scholarship. This award will support her as she pursues a degree in Nursing and takes the next step toward a rewarding career in healthcare.

Auxiliary Happenings!

As the year unfolded, we continued serving the Noble community by sponsoring day trips & excursions, providing flowers for the dining room, hosting the annual lobster dinner, helping with pet-related expenses including healthcare and grooming, purchasing large print and video collections for the library, managing the Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, providing entertainment and clubhouse social events, and much, much more. In September, we held another successful Book and Tag Sale and had a tremendous turnout for this much anticipated annual event. Whew! As you can see, the Auxiliary really works hard to bring joy to Noble Horizons, and we want everyone to know how much they are loved and valued.

Time marches on, and we are already experiencing chilly mornings and the leaves are changing. Once again, the Auxiliary will absolutely light up the end of the year with our annual Holiday Market on December 5th and 6th. Last year’s event was a huge success and we will continue the tradition with some of our favorite tables as well as some new ones. We will have the jams & jellies, knits, baked goods, handmade decorations, raffle baskets, jewelry and some vendor tables. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to get into the holiday spirit. As always, the proceeds from this and all of our events go directly towards enriching the lives of our Noble residents. And while visiting Noble Horizons, be sure to visit our Country Store, which always has beautiful, unique gifts items, seasonal specialties, and necessary sundries.

There is always plenty to do and we always have something in the works. We love what we do and enjoy working side-by-side to plan and host events. Our mission is to enrich the lives of those in our Noble Horizons community, and we always welcome new members to work along side our many long-time members. If you would like to join our Auxiliary, or have any questions about our organization, If you would like to join our Auxiliary I can be reached at 860-671-1174 or teriaitken2000@gmail.com.

Noble Horizons AUXILIARY

The Noble Horizons Auxiliary was founded in 1975 with one guiding purpose: to help make life for Noble Horizons residents as pleasurable and as fulfilling as possible.

The Auxiliary raises funds for special services and activities that benefit Noble residents through such popular annual events as the Holiday Market, Book and Tag Sales, and the year-round operation of the Country Store.

The proceeds from these fundraising efforts provide substantial financial gifts that benefit the entire Noble community. These gifts include:

  • Day trips & excursions to museums, live performances, and restaurants
  • Dining room flowers
  • Annual lobster dinner
  • Pet related expenses including healthcare and grooming etc.
  • Large print and video collections for the library
  • The Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, which helps Noble employees further their education goals
  • Entertainment and clubhouse social events
  • Holiday gifts for in-house Noble residents
  • The Resident Supplementary Fund for items such as eyeglasses, dental work, and hearing aids
  • The Audrey Whitbeck Fund for arts and crafts classes
  • Subscriptions to Netflix

Some of the Auxiliary members volunteer their time on a regular basis, such as tending the Country Store, while others work on special events
