50th Anniversary
It all began as a vision between Tom Wagner, attorney for John and Ethel Noble and his wife Fran Wagner, then Church Homes President Lowell Davis and architect Dave Jephson. Fifty years later, Noble Horizons has evolved into a premier senior living community and major employer in northwest Connecticut
Noble’s campus, originally designed as a housing complex for persons 65 and older, was made possible through the bequest of the late Mrs. John Noble of Sharon and New York City. Mrs. Noble’s vision was to offer housing within the reach of retired, middle-income people so “that they might live out their lives in comfort and dignity.” The interest from her bequest was used to construct the initial 20 cottages, and in honor of the Nobles and their Sharon CT estate Blue Horizons, the campus was named Noble Horizons.

Noble HORIZONS - 50th Anniversary Jubilee Community Picnic
Below is Administrator, Bill Pond's Speech to the Community
Welcome and thank you!!! Thank you to the volunteers, Noble team members, benefactors, families and community friends whose contributions over the last 50-years have made this celebration possible!
I’d like to thank the volunteers of the Lakeville Hose Company who have not only prepared this exceptional anniversary meal but whose dedicated volunteers keep our community safe 24 hours/day, 365 days a year. We are honored to partner with them.
I am especially grateful to the indomitable 50th Anniversary Planning Committee who have not only organized this celebration but have spent hours copiously excavating 50 years of Noble history. They have unearthed memorable photos, heart-warming stories and timeless artifacts that reveal the magic and wonder of the Noble story. In fact, this October the Salisbury Association will host a multi-media experience featuring the story of Noble Horizons as told by the people who lived it. Please check our website later this summer for more details of this truly exciting project.
Celebrating 50 years - Thank you to all who came to the Community Picnic!
A great time was had by all at our 50th Jubilee Community Picnic held on July 12, 2022. Noble's campus came alive with music from the Salisbury Band, amazing food, and of course the joy of seeing everyone from the community.

Noble HORIZONS
50 Years! How did this happen?
Despite all of the health care challenges these days, it’s so important to keep things in their proper perspective. As difficult as these past two years have been, I embrace the opportunity to reflect on all that is positive and exciting. This is a big year for Noble Horizons. January 1st, 2022 marked the beginning of our 50th-anniversary year.
For 50 years, Noble Horizons has offered exceptional care, a dynamic lifestyle, and holistic attention to the needs of our residents amidst the peace, beauty, and tranquility of our pristine 110-acre campus. Especially during these trying times, it is inspiring to ponder the journey we have made and the great promise of our next 50 years.
My time here has been relatively brief, but I vividly remember my first days at Noble. I had been working in senior living since the mid-1980’s but had never encountered a community like Noble Horizons. I was overwhelmed by the spectacular setting, the staff's dedication and commitment to the highest standards, and the pride they felt as members of the Noble team. I was so excited to be a small part of it. My predecessor, Eileen Mulligan, deserves all of the credit as her vision became the reality that we celebrate today.
We enter our 50th year with new initiatives and excitement for future opportunities. I look forward to beginning the next 50 years together, stronger, ambitious, respectful, and mindful of what has brought us to this point!
Gratefully,
Bill Pond, Administrator
