COVID Test and Vaccines, Lakevile Hose Company Surprise, Holiday Gift

The holiday season is in full swing and we hope that you are finding ways to enjoy your favorite traditions despite the unusual circumstances.  Festive activities spreading holiday cheer throughout Noble Horizons include tree-trimming, shopping (online!), gift wrapping, decorating and lots of music.

We wish you health and happiness this holiday season and hope you'll join our holiday celebrations by following the Noble blog, Facebook and Instagram pages.  Warm wishes to you!

Two Significant COVID Updates

We are pleased to report that on November 30 and again on December 7, 184 residents and staff tested negative for COVID!  Though COVID is on the rise regionally, Noble remains COVID-free and we are indebted to the dedicated Noble staff to whom Bill Pond wrote, "Once again, you all have come shining through!  We are all COVID negative.  Thank you for your continued efforts to be cautious and to practice extreme awareness here at Noble and in your daily lives."

Our vigilance will be rewarded on December 23 when the first doses of the COVID vaccine will be offered to staff and residents.  The second dose is scheduled for January 11 and we are exceptionally grateful for the transformative impact this holiday gift will have on our community.

Lakeville Hose Company Parade

The highlight of our season has been the spectacular holiday parade of lights organized by several remarkable Noble elves in conjunction with dedicated volunteers from the Lakeville Hose Company. Once again, we are moved by the thoughtfulness of our community and the devotion of Noble team members who continually find ways to create joy throughout Noble Horizons.

Lou-Ann Brizee: I Don’t Know Any Other Place I’d Rather Be

When colleagues needed extra support last month, they called Lou-Ann, who despite being on vacation, generously offered to come in and ultimately spent most of her vacation at work.   “I can’t say enough good things about our team and the aides who do so much here. We’re a small group and we help each other."

Lou-Ann began her career at Noble Horizons in 1981 and without a hint of irony, recently reflected, " I could stay doing what I’m doing for a long time.” Read more about this remarkable nurse who touches lives every day.

Protect Yourself-Our Gift to You

You are likely spending more time on line and unfortunately, so are cyber-criminals.  The best way to avoid them is to be informed. Noble Horizons and Salisbury Bank recently hosted a cyber-security workshop and we are happy to share this holiday gift to help you stay safe, savvy and secure through the season and beyond.

Lots of good news from Noble Horizons!  As of January 21, every person living or working at Noble is COVID-free, and 100% of Cobble, Wagner, Riga and Whitridge residents have been vaccinated!

Happy New Year! Like you, we were thrilled to see 2020 end and it was with extra exuberance that we welcomed 2021 with a New Year's Eve parade!  Accompanied by mimosas, residents cheered as staff members scattered bubbles and commemorated the opportunity for new beginnings.  We trust that you, too, were able to usher in hope and the possibility for better times ahead.

We're vaccinated!  The holiday season brought an extra-special gift to Noble Horizons residents and staff who on December 23 received their first of two COVID vaccinations!  Well over 100 vaccines were administered and nary a side effect was reported other than a few slightly sore arms.

The region's recent snowfall has created a magical panorama across Noble's campus. Views in every direction glisten in white and the Berkshire foothills are breathtaking.

Hope and relief abound at Noble in anticipation of Wednesday's administration of the COVID vaccine.  To learn more, please tune in to Bill Pond's Friday interview on the local NPR station.
