Sharon Hospital Physicians Discuss Screening Guidelines and the Physician-Patient Relationship

At noon on Monday, April 29, primary care physician Dr. Kathleen Mantaro and Sharon Hospital Medical Practice gynecologist Dr. Susan Parisi will discuss the important patient-physician relationship, how to maximize this relationship and review current recommendations for mammograms, pap smears and colonoscopy screenings. A complimentary lunch will be served in the Community Room at 11:30 a.m.
Building and maintaining a strong relationship with your healthcare provider is essential, yet patients are increasingly expected to adopt a consumer approach to healthcare. This includes shopping for network coverage, navigating payment systems, rushing through brief doctor visits and more. In addition, attendees will learn the importance of annual health screenings for men and women, as well as the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations.
Mantaro has practiced medicine for more than 25 years and earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Danbury Hospital. Parisi earned her medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She also completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona, an internationally-recognized program founded by integrative medicine pioneer, Dr. Andrew Weil.
