Hotchkiss School's Keith Moon Returns!

Zoom Meeting

Keith Moon Book Club

Keith Moon, a teacher of Russian, History, and English at The Hotchkiss School will read Reaganland by Rick Perlstein for his annual Noble Horizons course beginning on March 19, from 1:00-2:00 pm. For almost a decade, Moon has taught a variety of fiction and non-fiction books chronicling Russia and the Soviet Union but this year he detours to the United States with one of his favorite books which The New York Times named a notable book of 2020. “His sharp insights make his books surprising and fun,” wrote the Times reviewer; “Majestic,” hailed the Los Angeles Times.  Reaganland is the fourth and final volume of Perlstein’s massive, sweeping history of American conservatism in the postwar era and resonates particularly powerfully today.

Moon holds a B.A. in Russian language and literature from Dartmouth College and an A.M. in Russian area studies from Harvard University. He lived and studied in the Soviet Union and travels frequently throughout Russia. During his 25+ year Hotchkiss teaching career he has been awarded the E. Carleton Granbery Teaching Chair and in 2020 the Lufkin Prize, which recognizes “faculty members of character, commitment, and skill, who serve as role models to students…and consistently demonstrate excellence and strong moral leadership and overall service to the community.”

The free class will meet weekly from 1-2 pm on Fridays, March 19-May 14. Please register below for a Zoom link.
