Jeffrey Engel: Bernstein's Rise to Fame
On March 29 and April 5, from 10:30-11:30 am, Noble Horizons celebrates Leonard Bernstein’s Centennial with Jeffrey Engel who will explore Bernstein’s legendary musical achievements as a composer, performer, conductor, lecturer, TV personality and teacher. In his first class, the topic will be Bernstein’s Rise to Fame; on April 5, Engel will discuss On the Town and Wonderful Town, the first two of Bernstein’s five Broadway musicals.
Jeffrey Engel studied the cello at the Sorbonne in Paris and performed in numerous orchestras, including the Paris Opera. He gives music history lectures throughout CT, has been a professor at Northwestern Community College for 15-years and was selected by Litchfield Magazine as one of the fifty most influential people in Litchfield County.
