Avoid a Broken Bone

bones

Bone health plays a major role in longevity and on April 13 at 11 am, Fairview Hospital Orthopedic, Dr. Pier Boutin, will discuss proven strategies to enhance bone health. A sixth of the United States population, or 54 million Americans, have low bone mass, but proper nutrition and lifestyle habits can help build and maintain strong bones.Even small shifts can preserve bone strength, protect against bone deterioration and produce significant long-term positive outcomes.

Dr. Boutin trained at the University of Florida and was the first woman to graduate from an orthopedic surgery program in the state. After specializing in joint replacements and sports medicine for many years, Dr. Boutin switched her focus from surgery to helping patients maintain and regain bone health. Dr. Boutin will explain how people with sports injuries, arthritis and osteoporosis can remain active and avoid fractures.
