Noble Horizons Auxiliary

The Noble Horizons Auxiliary, founded in 1975, sponsors many events throughout the year. Its simply stated mission is "to enrich the lives of Noble Horizons residents."

In addition to operating the Country Store, the auxiliary sponsors the popular Festival of Trees and Country Fair at Christmastime. Donations and proceeds from events throughout the year enable the auxiliary to make substantial gifts for the benefit of the entire Noble Community.

The auxiliary always welcomes new members. Anyone who would like more information about the work of the auxiliary or who is interested in becoming a member may call Joanne Moore, Director of Volunteers, at 860-435-9851, ext. 154 or at jmoore@churchhomes.org

Noble Horizons Volunteers

Noble Horizons volunteers, a talented group of people that has included students as young as fourth grade all the way up to our oldest residents, are active participants in the life of Noble.

Volunteering

Volunteers staff the Country Store, read aloud or write letters for residents, help residents send and receive e-mail from children and grandchildren on the library computers, serve as hostesses at community events, sew and mend, staff the library, assist with chapel services and provide on-campus transport for residents. For information about becoming a Noble volunteer contact Director of Volunteers Joanne Moore at 860-435-9851, ext. 154 or at jmoore@churchhomes.org

GIVING
Donors Have Built Noble Horizons

Noble Horizons owes its very existence to the foresight and generous spirit of a succession of donors. Nearly 40 years ago, the trust established by John H. and Ethel G. Noble bought not just the original 64 wooded acres where Noble stands (the total acreage is now 104) but built the Cobble, Riga Residence and the first cottages. St. Luke's Chapel and a large portion of the Whitridge Nursing Wing came into being through the extraordinary generosity of the late Arnold Whitridge.

Thirty of Noble's 50 cottages were built by individuals and deeded to Noble as gifts. The exceptional paintings and sculpture throughout the campus were all gifts of the artists or of collectors. Countless other gifts have enabled Noble Horizons to provide its residents with the facilities and services they need to enjoy comfortable, secure and fulfilling lives in a beautiful setting and a life-affirming atmosphere. Noble is a recognized leader in elder care, setting a standard that few others can match.

Bequests

Many of Noble's friends choose to include Noble Horizons in their wills, through bequests of a specific dollar amount or percentage of the estate or gifts of art or personal property. The following wording is suggested when including Noble Horizons in one's will: I give, devise, and bequeath to Church Homes, Inc., Congregational for the exclusive benefit of their village, Noble Horizons in Salisbury, Connecticut, (a dollar amount or description of the bequest.)

Charitable Gift Annuity

A charitable gift annuity allows the donor to make a gift to Noble Horizons while retaining a guaranteed lifetime income. Charitable gift annuities pay a competitive rate of return each quarter and allow the donor to take an income tax deduction for part of the gift in the year the gift is made.

Stock

A gift of stock provides significant financial advantages to the donor while making a meaningful contribution to Noble Horizons. There is a capital gains tax advantage to be realized by giving appreciated property held for more than one year. To discuss a gift of stock, please contact Eileen Mulligan, Administrator, at 860-435-9851, emulligan@churchhomes.org

Life Insurance

Making Noble Horizons the owner or beneficiary of a life insurance policy that is no longer needed is the simplest way to make a gift. Your insurance company or agent can arrange this for you.

Contact Information

To discuss in confidence your interest in making a charitable gift to Noble Horizons, please contact Eileen Mulligan, Administrator, at 860-435-9851, emulligan@churchhomes.org

Church Homes, Inc., Congregational is a tax exempt 501(c)3 organization. Our federal tax identification number is 06-0763898.

The Heritage Society

Those who remember Noble Horizons in their will, create a charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust to benefit Noble Horizons, or who make a gift of insurance become members of the Heritage Society. The generosity of Heritage Society members is recognized in the Noble Horizons Annual Report.
